Constructions of this cover 191 cm x 201 cm with a radius of 18 cm is made of insulating blocks with a density of 25 kg per cubic metre. The colour is grey. Reinforcement is via a galvanised steel U-beam (steel is superior to aluminium in strength and torsional rigidity) which is embedded in the insulating block so that it does not risk damaging the moisture barrier.
The moisture barrier on the lid of the 820541 hot tub is in turn vacuum-sealed, hot-welded and made of aluminium-coated plastic film. Thickness and density are extremely important for insulation. This cover therefore has a maximum thickness of 127 mm in the centre and 102 mm on the sides for effective water drainage. To ensure the cover stays put on the bath, it comes with a skirt that prevents the wind from grabbing it. It also comes with buckles for easy attachment to the bath. These can be found in a pocket on the packaging.

The function of the vapour barrier and significance of the 191 cm x 201 cm R=18 cm spa lid is worth commenting on further. One of the most common problems with spa lids is generally that the moisture barrier gives way, the lid takes in condensation and therefore soon weighs 100kg. The quality of the moisture barrier is therefore of paramount importance. The 820541 moisture barrier is made of Mylar, a material consisting of specially treated polyester and aluminium foil.
The 191 cm x 201 cm lid with 18 cm radius has a marine vinyl which surrounds the entire structure is of the highest quality and is anti-UV and anti-mildew treated at the factory.
Finally, for maximum durability, the joint of the vinyl is insulated along the entire length of the spalock with 2 small and one long pad to create durability and minimise heat loss.
