Spacare BioBromide Salt is used to disinfect bathing water.

If you have a spa with a bromine generator, you use bromine salt to disinfect the bathing water by electrolysis, which converts the salt into bromine.

A brominator may need to be cleaned between rounds, so use Saniklar Safety Cover & Chlorinator Cleaner

Keep in mind that some manufacturers indicate that you should first add Spa Lime Stabiliser before adding BioBromide Salt and running the bromine generator.

Spacare BioBromide salt

You use Spacare BioBromide Salt if you have a spa equipped with a bromine generator. The spa's bromine generator converts the brake salt into bromine, which oxidises dirt particles and, as a result, gives you bacteria-free bathing water.

Because of this, bromine is a good alternative to chlorine because it doesn't have the pungent odour of chlorine and is also great to use if you or your loved ones are sensitive to chlorine. Bromine is very effective against bacteria, viruses and fungi because it removes organic contaminants through oxidisation.

In addition, Bromine does not irritate the skin or eyes and has a neutral pH value Bromine is more effective than chlorine at higher pH values. Because of this, Bromine is often used in larger and public spas.

Instructions for use BioBromide Salt

Firstly, measure the alkalinity (80-120 mg/l) and pH (7.2-7.8) of the bath water and adjust the value if necessary. Then you "shock start" the water with SpaCare SpaChock as instructed.

Then you have to follow the instructions of the manufacturer of the bromide generator. As a rule of thumb, 1.3 kg of SpaCare BioBromide Salt is considered sufficient for 1000 litres of bathing water.

  • Before adding salt to the bath, dissolve the salt in a bucket of lukewarm water.
    Add the water first and then add the Biobromide salt to the bucket of water.
    Then pour the solution into the filter compartment or directly into the bath.
  • Important! When using a bromine generator, you must measure the pH value regularly and if the value is too high, you must adjust the strength and change parts of the bath water. Measure the bromine and pH value of the spa regularly with test equipment. A suitable bromine value is 2.0-6.0 mg/l.
  • Add SpaChock once a week to maintain the level of BioBromide Salt.

Shock chlorination

When using Bromine salt in the spa, you can add SpaChock at any time for "shock chlorination" and as a result, you get clear and bacteria-free bathing water.

Recommended values

You should therefore pay close attention to the dosage and also regularly check and adjust the bromine, pH and alkali levels to the recommended values:
Bromine 2,0-6,0 mg/l;
pH 7.2-7.8;
Alkalinity 80-120 mg/l.

Caring for hot tubs

You should change the bathing water regularly and clean the spa at the same time. You should use SpaCare Biofilm Cleaner to clean the built-in piping system. You do this 3-4 times a year. After cleaning, you take the opportunity to change the filters or clean them thoroughly.

Daily maintenance

For your daily operation of the spa, you can advantageously have double filters. This means that you can quickly change to clean filters, resulting in clearer bathing water. Next, you clean the dirty filter and then use it to clean the water. SpaCare Filter Cleaner. After one to two weeks, it's time to repeat the process and replace the bath's filter cartridge with the newly cleaned one.
