Spa bromine is gentler on the skin and is therefore ideal for allergy sufferers or those who experience a sensitivity to chlorine. It works as well as chlorine but without the chlorine odour and is more effective at higher temperatures. Bromine is also not as sensitive to the PH value and works well in a wider PH spectrum. Bromine degrades more slowly than chlorine and therefore requires less frequent addition. It can also help extend the life of your spa as the risk of corrosion on components is reduced when choosing bromine.

The disadvantages include that it is a slightly more expensive disinfection alternative to chlorine. It can also take some time to get the right balance in the water with a bromine value of 2.0-4.0 mg/l.
